Paris Hilton’s Album Cover (w/ Banksy)

You’ve probably heard that the album was defaced by Banksy, a notorious urban artist from England. 500 copies of the “renovated” album were substituted for real ones in stores in England. Here’s what the new version looks like, thanks to Sharl:

Paris Hilton Debut Album, featuring “Why am I famous,” “What have I done,” and “What am I for.”

Race to the bottom of the pile!

Thou shalt not worship false icons.

Life wasn’t meant to be fair.

Every CD you buy puts me even further out of your league.

90% of success is just showing up.

Every time someone asks me how I am I hestitate a little bit too long.
Update: I just deleted a bunch of racist/in poor taste/offensive comments, so try and keep it clean in the future…

How on earth can people idolise someone who doesn’t do anything? What’s there to worship her for? Her hair color and handbags? Since when was inheriting money a virtue and spending it a talent? Christ, have we all gone through the looking glass?
Well, you Paris Hilton fans get what you deserve, I suppose.

Great job Banksy!
I absolutely agree that Paris Hilton is a good for nothing cunt. Totally true. She’s done nothing with her life whatsoever. Nothing useful. Nothing that I know of. She has a name and a hell of a lot of money. I’m not saying she should immediately give it all away to poor people in Africa, but she has the ability to reach people.
She most probably has brains. Whatever the quality of them, they’re there, obviously. No-one lives without brains. It’s the activity of them however, that I’m worried about. It would just be great to have her do something on her own initiative, and I don’t mean inheriting money or playing 50 Cent’s hooker.
But what Henry said (see above) is just pathetic. “But she has small titties.”
Again, I agree, in a way. She looks good, but not spectacular.
But this is just speaking about her as if she’s a piece of plastic that anyone can buy.

Paris Hilton is a talentless hack who has no claim to fame or any legitimate reson we should even know or care about her. She’s an attentionwhoring self absorbed harpy. She isn’t attractive, shes a fucking skinny cunt, flat chest and a huge nose (and a long chin). If you’ve actually heard her singing, you’ll want to pierce your eardrums with a pencil and pour acid down them. Finally, if you model yourself after this girl, don’t expect to get very far in life. You are a very shallow person and so is she.
Good day to you sir.
on September 4th, 2006 at 4:32 am
Hahaha Brilliant!
That girl doesn’t deserve the attention and accolades she gets. Banksy, you have always been a inspiration to me and my work and you have just made me laugh harder than ever…. Nice work.

a lot of you don’t see it, but people like her teach the weak minded to believe in a material existence as the route to happiness. I guarantee you she has big problems because of the life she leads, but you won’t hear about it, because the entertainment industry needs you to believe that it’s all shiny happy people having major fun.
in a few years when her face is tired and the music dries up, watch the industry turn on her, gossip columns - the usual stuff. then she’s gone and you lot forget about her for the next plastic fake smile that sells you another false dream
of course you won’t accept this, because they have you like a hypnotist.
on September 4th, 2006 at 6:08 am
Excellent work once again, Banksy. Paris is so amazingly lame and untalented. The only reason this pathetic excuse for a record has been released is because of modern technology. Tweak, tweak, airbrush here, compression there… pitch-fix there… how amazingly terrible she is. All of her fans are morons.
on September 4th, 2006 at 6:26 am
[…] So who is the target? Paris or her fans? Or his perception of Paris (spoilt rich kid) and her fans (celebrity obsessed teenage Heat readers)? But when you read into this perception, or at least my perception of his perception, it all seems a little bit mean spirited. The actual doctored cover, tits out (as can be seen here) is barely any different, and the song titles are not that far fetched. And anyone can do a bit of photoshopping: its what I did to make a clean version. So someone fetches it home, hears a probably competent mix-CD and then is told by the media that what they have is not a Paris Hilton album but a collectable piece of art. Not only that but one whose sale will count towards Paris’s chart position (Banksy duplicated the bar code after all). Suddenly you see that this is neither satirical or making anything like a point not obvious to everyone who knows who Paris Hilton is. Instead it is actually just good advertising for the album. […]

on September 4th, 2006 at 7:28 am
Hey freakytrigger,
The point is that the action by ‘Banksy’ is designed to make people think, unlike the work of Paris. Therefore trying to suggest that his action has had the reverse affect is irrelevent.
The way to fight trashy celebrity culture is to help inform people, particularly the one’s who fall for this style of exploititive marketing.

He is an amazing artist with strong passions and provokative executions, that exactly what seperates real artists from fake ones. paris will be remembered for her sex tapes and having disposable income and her extreme shallowness. bansky is and will continue to be an edgy iconic entertaining

Every now and again, I see or hear something that puts my faith back into humanity and reminds me that the world isnt just full of mindless drones…that there are people out there who think for themselves.
This was more than just hate on paris….it was a social commentary….he was making a point, and one that needed to be made.
The unfortunate thing is, only intellectually stimulated people will understand this point that he’s making, so i fear this will go straight over the head of the average Paris fan, if their IQ is anything to go by. They will see this as jealousy, when it is in fact, payment long overdue.
Great job though.

Paris is one of those rich, famous and worthless type of celebrities. What has she done for the good of her fellow human being? Nothing! You can’t blame the girl for being born into the money she was, BUT you can blame her for for not using her God given brain and doing something, greater than herself, with the blessings she is given. She makes me want to throw up…

Guerilla artist Banksy altered 500 copies of Paris Hilton’s debut album (titled Paris, as if we thought she could come up with anything else) across 48 record shops in the UK by replacing the CD with his own remixes featuring such titles as Why am I Famous?, What Have I Done? and What Am I For? as well as swapping out her picture on the CD sleeve with one of her topless and with a dog’s head. Seems Banksy got wind of DreamGirl and Luxe’s evil plan to give Paris a mustache and devil horns on CD covers throughout the greater New York area and he took it step further, totally stealing the SwankyBeast thunder while Luxe was “conveniently” out of the country. i have the greatest respect for people who have talent and have worked hard to achieve what they want - fame, fortune, whatever. paris hilton inherited millions from her dad - he is the one who had the brains and did all the hard work for her! he was enterprising and much more a role model than she is. also, banksy is very talented, his art makes you think, which is what art is all about.
paris hilton is like the royal family: didn’t do anything to become rich and famous, instead inheriting fame and fortune from some ancestor who did all the hard work!
i just don’t see why so many people like her, there are so many better role models and better-looking people than her in the world. i know ordinary people who are more inspiring (not to mention better looking, in my opinion) than her.

Ok,People that actually take the time to hate on somthing a harmless as paris hilton are idiotic nutjobs, there are many many many more important issues that this “Banksy” could of made a real statement on,Gay marriage, child poverty, fur,Aids,The War,Bush, etc etc
But no,this guy wanted publicty and fame for himself.
He wants to be known as a guy who picked on some rich dumb celebrity who cant answer back and get praise from it off people blinded by misplaced hatred of another.
And mainly he just wants to further himself, even tho he has about as much talend as hilton herself!!
From what i hear the music even given instead of hiltons was just as bad as the original content aswell,so he even failed on the account of getting somthing of quality out there.
And all these people who are jumping on the “We hate Paris” bandwagon, you are sheep, and just as bad if not worse than paris fans themselves,at least they arent reverting to some kind of caveman hatred of another who has no relation in there own lives.
Ps.on the comment that was said about banksys being a talanted “artist”,Dont make me laugh,i am a honor art graduate with a job in teaching, and his “Art” is nothing but a self-obssed attention seeking vechicle.Sickning think people regard this as art.

Banksys Cd beinhaltet Songs wie “Why Am I Famous?”, “What Have I Done?” und “What Am I For?”. I’m definitely not a fan of Paris Hilton. In fact, I despise the kind of commercialism that her sheer embodiment and image stand for. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a communist, but that kind of dirty, rotten capitalism, where a person is a beloved celebrity even though he or she has no talent what so ever and hasn’t done ANYTHING that makes him or her worthy of any attention, is the thing that’s wrong with this world… (Among other things).
It’s all about making money; the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. That’s the way it is. It’s all thanks to packaging and advertizing. I have nothing against her personally though, it’s really stupid of people to hate her so much to wish sodomy or death upon her. She as an individual in the whole story is just a little part of the machinery. She is the product. It’s the machinery that’s the enemy. Only now have I understood how Rage Against The Machine could come up with that name for the band…
This prank is really a crazy idea, and a great idea. Well done. You know, people just need to open their eyes pass MTV, Cosmo and whatthefcknot. Some people like the way she looks and her fashion (which she can easilly offord), but that doesn’t make her a superhuman, an idol, a worshiping target (so to speak). She is no better than anyone else in the world, but is much more fortunate. On the other hand, she is no more human than anyone else in the world either. But she has become a product and a way for other people to make money, and that’s actually the bottom issue and the biggest problem of the western capitalist world today.
on September 6th, 2006 at 2:39 pm
It’s just amazing reading all the different points of view stated over here.
But what is more amazing is how a less than average looking girl (starving next to death, bleaching your hair and roasting yourself to get tanned does the trick) whose family happens to have loads of money to pay the girl all her wanna-be-famous excentricities may be considered as a life model for many people out there. Say, that’s marketing and PR.
What Banksy did may work for her as publicity, but hey, Banksy made a statement. After all it is his way of sending his message out there. I think there’s a lot of wit and smartness in his action than in whatever Paris Hilton may achieve in her life.
But hey, being shallow, acting like an idiot, ignorant, and obviously displaying an anorexic body sells more than actually thinking and being able to make a statement. A desirable type of girl, I bet.
on September 6th, 2006 at 3:45 pm
I wouldn’t get too worked up about Paris Hilton, sure she’s rich when she doesn’t deserve to be, she hasn’t worked a day in her life, and has a face that bears a striking resemblance to a mule. But you just know she’s going to crash and burn one day. Things are going to go bad, and ol’ Paris isn’t going to have the life skills to pull herself out of the pit she’s digging herself into. Although I agree with some of the earlier statements, it’s rather concerning that Paris is actually a role-model for some, that doesn’t bode well for today’s youth, but if you look at how she’s viewed at large, or at least from the majority of the comments here, Paris has just become a parody of herself.
She’ll get what’s coming to her, I have no doubt in my mind, and it’s the guys like Banksy that are helping speed this process along.

ROFLMFAO good job!
paris hilton got arrested for being drunk driving…well, makes u think that our stars have to be rolemodels for our society. that’s what a star makes a star. to be someone, who people can look up to. not to look down at someone like paris with her porn all over the web and all that kind of crap. i mean, what’s the use if someone can cough up a guy’s sperm? that’s not the type of star i want to look up to.
thank you =)

I love it! Let’s face it Paris was born with more $ than God and all she has done is make a bad “stroke” flick. She is a useless waste of carbon.

Banksy may have created something that’s good for a laugh, but he’s really failed to accomplish much of anything here. Paris still gets money for the CD sales, and the only people who are really going out to buy these things already hate Paris Hilton.
Chrissy had a point, why waste your energy hating someone you’re never gonna meet?
It’s not like she wronged you personally or anything.
Now don’t mistake my intentions in this post, I dont like her, I don’t support her or anything. I simply don’t *care* about her at all.
That’s what she thrives on, attention! Doesn’t matter if it’s negative or positive attention, she just likes being in the spotlight.
If you guys really want to stop Paris Hilton, if you really want her to go away, then stop screaming about her, stop carrying on about her!
But hey- that’s just one man’s opinion, right? If you guys wanna carry on about her, by all means~ go ahead. But think about what I said, if it makes any sense to you- give it a try, hate is an ugly thing, so just let it go.

How can anyone defend Paris!? She deserves all the negative press she gets. It’s people like her who are making a mockery of the music industry!!!! What happened to good music? Someone please tell me, because every time I turn on the radio it makes me want to go on a murderous rampage.
Paris is a disgrace to herself and to everyone who actually works hard and has talent!

Paris Hilton is just a spoiled brat. It’s not her fault that the have gotten everything she have ever wanted thrown at her
We should be sorry for Paris. She can’t do anything right for her self. I think people are nice, buying her CD just to give that poor girl some money, since she actually can’t sing! She is living great just because her father is shitting money!
LIFE IS NOT FAIR. (that’s NOT hot)

I feel kinda sorry for Paris.
When i think about her it only makes
ME feel so much better about my life,
I don’t think my life is boring just because
I’m not a GASILLIONAIRE.
I’m just glad that I’m not her.
If some of you people think your
life is boring then YOU are the only one who can
make it more fun. it’s not that hard. AND
I think Paris sometimes wishes she was not
that famous. tss.
by the rest;

[…] Banksy is a popular graffiti artist from the UK who’s been fortunate enough to make it big. You may be familiar with his various pieces on the 425-mile Apartheid Wall or when he snuck 500 doctored versions of Paris Hilton’s CD into music stores. Well, he’s kind of a big deal. With that in mind, one of Banksy’s first works, valued around $193,000 USD, was recently painted over with black paint by workmen who thought it was vandalism. Now who are the vandals? […]

f you think about all the resources that this vapid human wannabe has consumed over her useless life, who knows how many starving children could been saved. Thanks for nothing Paris, what keeps you from chewing on the end of a shotgun? Oh right, the souless and stupid don’t feel guilt. -
This fascination with this sorry excuse for a human being is upsetting. Someone should do the world a favor and put a bullet in that empty head. - Christian

Here`s a question for all the Paris fans out there that doesn`t seem to be asked as much as it does-why do you like her so much? What makes her so much better than someone who`s trying to cure cancer or AIDS. Honestly, can someone please give me an answer here?

I so connect with paris, having had people say things like this to me also.
bansky is a male idiot who probably fancies her so much, the envy drove him to do this. oh well
;P.

Look, basically, I have nothing against Paris. I would be the male version of her if I was born into her situation. We all would, think about it. She’s very lucky and deep down we all wish we had the fortune she was born into and maybe we don’t agree with her choices or her “art” (eerrgh lack of better word I guess) or her lifestyle, we can’t pass judgment on her because we don’t know how her life is on the inside.
However, Banksy is brilliant. One of the most amazing artists on this planet because he takes risks. Danger Mouse has some serious talent too and I would shake both of their hands for this. Its true innovative genius and love everything he [Banksy] does, much respect!
