The domain name lonelygirl15.com was registered before the first video was even posted, from a proxy.

A trademark application for “lonelygirl15″ was filed on August 22, 2006 by an Encino lawyer named Kenneth Goodfried.

An IP tracker was placed on a myspace page to which the user lonelygirl15 was lured. According to this tracker the person using the LonelyGirl15 username did so from a server of the Creative Artists Agency , A Hollywood casting agency.

A message posted by the Lonelygirl15 insiders on Alissa Brooke’s forum gives it all away:

Right now, the biggest mystery of Lonelygirl15 is “who is she?” We think this is an oversimplification. Lonelygirl15 is a reflection of everyone. She is no more real or fictitious than the portions of our personalities that we choose to show (or hide) when we interact with the people around us. Regardless, there are deeper mysteries buried within the plot, dialogue, and background of the Lonelygirl15 videos, and many of our tireless and dedicated fans have unearthed some of these.
