I guess the fact that this thread is almost 3 years old is a pretty good sign that they did! Poor Christopher, he must have hated the movie but he's probably not allowed to admit it. My sister and I saw this it at the cinema when it came out (we both LOVE the books) and couldn't keep quiet, we were just constantly pointing out everything that they did wrong/badly. Which was everything. I've been looking around on the net at reviews and stuff of the movie (I should be studying for exams which is why I'm doing anything I possibly can to avoid doing that) and people are blaming it on Christopher It's not his fault they screwed it up so badly!!! I certainly couldn't have written anything as good when I was 15 and probably never could. Some people are saying that the books are bad and anyone could have written them and that they copy Star Wars. Firstly, anyone could NOT write something like this. There are so many small things that have to be right in order for everything to work and fit with the rest of the story and set things up for the other books in the series. It is ridiculous that anyone could think that. Secondly, it does have some resemblance to Star Wars but only in some of the main plot points not at all in detail. It's only because the movie misses out all the details that it appears much more like Star Wars. Anyway that's enough. Everyone has already said pretty much all there is to say on this topic. The movie doesn't really deserve all this attention. But I have been waiting years to get all this out. Now I can forget about it. Unless they make an Eldest movie. But I doubt it. I have watched many Jack Sparrow and Johnny Depp impersonator videos online and I feel that Adam Collier is the most perfect JS lookalike, sound-alike and act-alike. As for Toby, he sounds like but ...frankly, he doesn't look so much JS/JD. And Ron, he does look like JD with mustache and typical JD style dressup.
