J.K. Rowling hints of Harry Potter’s death
J.K. Rowling announced today that in the seventh and last installment of the Harry Potter series, two characters will die, and does not deny that Harry Potter might be one of them.
”I have never been tempted to kill him off before the final because I’ve always planned seven books, and I want to finish on seven books,” Rowling said.”I can completely understand, however, the mentality of an author who thinks, `Well, I’m gonna kill them off because that means there can be no non-author-written sequels. So it will end with me, and after I’m dead and gone they won’t be able to bring back the character‘.”
So essentially what she’s saying is, “Stay the hell away from my franchise, bitch! And no, you can’t have it even when I’m dead!” Seeing as she’s richer than the Queen of England (Forbes claims she has a fortune of over $1 billion), why won’t she share the wealth a bit?
Either way, she claims she wrote the final chapter of the book back in 1990, even before she had found a publisher for the first book. The article adds:
”The final chapter is hidden away, although it’s now changed very slightly. One character got a reprieve. But I have to say two die that I didn’t intend to die,” she said. ”A price has to be paid. We are dealing with pure evil here. They don’t target extras do they? They go for the main characters. Well, I do.”

I love the Harry Potter books! Iv’e read them all and seen all the movies so far. I can understand if J.K. Rowling kills Harry but the other day I was talking to my friends and I said “Hey what if J. K. Rowling makes another series of Harry as an adult with a wife and a kid!” and one of my friends said ” Yea, and his kid could go to school!”. I think its kinda cool so thats on reason why she could leave harry alive. Can any one else? Try and think of some and try to add it to this!

Though I would not like Harry to ‘Die’ in any cicumstance, I feel a befitting end to this series would be Harry dies after he makes Good win over Evil as he has no role to play once Voldemort dies. This will end the series in true spirit.
I Love all the Harry Potter books and have read them all , Plus seen all the movies and you know what, I think that J.K Rowling is being very selfish with the fact that she wants to kill off Harry Potter just so no one will add any kind of sequel or use the character in any way.So Please this is all a bunch of rubbish, DON’T KILL HARRY let him live a happy life, I think the poor little thing has suffered enough.

I love the books and I can not wait to read the last one, but to tell you the truth, as much as I don’t want him too, I have always thought that Harry will die in the end. Maybe it will be some kind of amazing powerful ending where the two characters that die are Harry and Voldamort and evil ends and Harry is the sacrifice, or maby not, maybe voldamort lives, i hope not. But still, she always does things that are unpredictable, so you never know. And besides, when the book is over, the whole series is over no matter what anyway. On that thought of the series being over I think I will just go and cry.
Think back to book 6. What’s the definition of a Horcrux? Think about it. What does Harry need to do, in order to kill Voldemort? I might be going the wrong way about this but I’ve been thinking about it since the end of book 6 and it just makes sense. IMHO. Although, J.K. Rowling did fool me with the 4th and 6th book, I think my main line of thought is on the right track.

i have not been reading the harry potter collection for very long but when i started reading the first book, i knew that there were other books, they were soooooooo good that it is unbelievable! When i finally got to the 6th book, i couldnt believe it dumbledore dies! wot is going on here! i cried a fare few times, but then i had to accept the fact that it was rowlings book and that is wot she had chosen to do. plez dont kill harry, the most the boy deserves is a little peace, he’s been through soooo much. me and my friends think that dumbledore has not died, and that professor snape was going along with the sarades! r u gonna tell us y dumbledore trusts snape so much, he is always going on about how he trusts him. in the 7th book i hpe u kill draco, that boy deserves a good kick. plez listen to wot i hav 2 say! cutey girl

she’s a writer, not Jesus. She came up with Harry Potter, why should she let anyone else prey off of her work? That’s like letting someone cheat off of you in school when you spent your entire weekend studying. It’s her story, why should she share? I wouldn’t want someone stealing my original ideas so that they could make loads without having to come up with a new idea.
And I don’t really think that Harry is a horcrux, because COME ON. EVERYONE is saying that. EVERYONE. So, why on Earth would she put in an idea where EVERY SINGLE BLOODY reader could say, “Gee, I saw that coming.” ? She wouldn’t. It’s the last book… she would want an ending, a conclusion with an amazing finish that no one forsaw. At least, that would be LOGICAL. It’s probably just a waste of time to sit here thinking, “Wow. Let’s speculate about the seventh book until we don’t even want to read it anymore.”
I half agree, and half don’t. From reading your last books, I’ve noticed that you put in things that we readers would never expect. (like sirius black and dumbldore dying) and it is your book, and you get to decide what happens, but, come on! harry potter, dying? i mean, it would make sence if he died in battle, (and hope fully, voldy, too) but, again, come on! I’d already be crying because i’ve ended the series, but, i’d cry even longer if harry died! well, i have a question about your last book…

wright about him if he killed voldemort theres nothing more to wright about him so no one would do that (wright about him), well I mean they could say he becomes head master or something but j.k.rwling could do that.

I love the Harry Potter books I have kept up with series. My parents were surprised that I could go through a book so fast, also I just happen to be a Christian and as it is when the Harry Potter movies started to come out my church and alot of other churches had a BIG problem with Harry Potter!
As the movies came out even more some familys watched one movie to see if it was ok, some familys like the movies others did not. If Harry Potter dies or J.K. makes the ending come out evil I can’t even explain how alot of churches will be angry or how the people who liked the movies will be looked at!!!!!!!!!! Please don’t let Harry die!
I think both Voldemort and his brother (yes) Harry Potter die in chapter 7. Did you notice how professor Sneep and the teacher with the rolling eye watched Harry? They both can see The Evil!

Voldemort (Evil) can just die when Harry (Good) dies as well. They have the same Fenixfeather in their wand.
When they are both dead there is no good or evil anymore, which is a metafysical and spiritual law in nature! Compare with the end of the movie the dark crystal by Brian Froud
Too many key characters have died in these books to make sure Harry lives. If his character dies in the end, the deaths will have been for nothing. I understand that Harry must face V alone, (which is why I understand Dumbledore had to die), but she does not have to kill off the main character to stress how EVIL and powerful V truly is.
I am thinking about what two characters are going to die. She said in an interview that the character that will die all have a reason. It is good versus evil. Meaning Harry vs. Voldemort. Who will win…of course Harry. Now that I am thinking about it I think Harry might die. Because the pensive said that neither can live while the other survives. But hope Harry doesn’t get killed. Far as Ron and Hermione, JK makes it seem like they are going to get married. Will they?
I wonder if Snape and Draco will make a come back. Since Draco didn’t kill Dumbledore what’s going to happen? Remember Hagrid said that he over heard Dumbledore and Snape argue. I think that argument was about Dumbledore telling Snape we will have to kill. Because Snape did give it some thought before it he killed Dumbledore.
Hi i really hope Harry Potter doesnt die, i think it will ruin the books for every one. But JK s decision not mine but please please please im begging you dont let harry die or you will get so much hatemail that it will make you cry.
JK has brilliantly made so many twists and turns in her books that she makes it unpredictable to the end of each and every one of them. Has she ever killed someone off that you could see coming even before you opened the book to read it? If she has then you’re very very clever, because before the books came out I never saw those deaths coming. I’m not saying that she won’t kill Harry or that she won’t kill Voldemort, but if you think about it, this could be a whole lot of hype for no reason at all.
I’d like to know what happens but i get bored with the books after reading them like half way through.

I think the two charecters will be draco malfoy and snape.
reason for this because in the begening of the 6th book snape made the unbreakable vow with narcissa that he would ALWAYS protected draco, this must mean that he will go at the same time, as for this horcrux thing,

i dont think harry is a horcrux, i think this will happen,(i will give high detals) :
harry thinks he is a horcrux, and at the end of the book, voldemort will be in a duel with harry, harry tryes to run into him to finish what he intended with dumbledoor. when he is dueling he begins to realise he cannot be a horcrux. and just as he is about to let voldemort kill him, voldemort shoots the avada kadebra at him, but harry does the same, right in voldemorts heart, voldemort is dead but his curse is still shooting at harry, but as he is falling, his jinks goes out of aim hitting harry right in the scar on his forhead, harry is knocked backwards but not killed, far from it.
when he gets up he sees voldemort is dead, and he wonders why his scar is not bursting with pain, he sees his reflection in a broken glass or mirror, and sees that his scar has gone. so, voldemort is out of it. knocked out cold HAHA. harry wins all.
Another theoire of mine is that perhaps dumbledoor has made a horcrux, into fawks, sand perhaps hagrid comes into this, i remember at the begining of harrypotterandthephilophisersstone, he says he trusts hagrid with his life, wel another is that perhaps dumbledoor isnt dead after all,
perhaps the polyjuice potion? and i think neviel will have a bigger part in this aswell, and i know jk said dubledoor wont come back, but come on she isnt gona say hes comin back on tv is she. well id love to read your comments, please tell me.xxxxxx and more to come im re-reading!.

well now that dumbledore is dead i could care less if any of the other characters die whether it be a leading character like harry or a useless scamp such as peeves…it does not matter……but one thing for sure snape should be transformed into a muggle and transfigured permanently as the entrance carpet to hogwarts so that he suffers the humiliation of future hogwarts children wiping their feet on him!!!!

I think that Dumbledore must be dead because his picture is in the
office with former headmasters and headmistresses. But he was the
greatest wizard of all time so he may have survived in some other
way— his spirit may live on somehow. If Harry dies I will not keep
the books or movies I have— Harry deserves to win and survive.
I can see him getting hurt in someway— he has gotten away with a
lot already with nothing but the original scar. I don’t see how some-
one as hateful as Snape could be on the “Good” side but still wonder
why Dumbledore was so sure of him. Did they have some plan for
Dumbledore to go to another plane of existence to trick L.V. into
letting his guard down?— Perhaps the picture in the office is some
magic to fool everyone and the body only seemed dead or was a
pollyjuice stand in??? One thing I am sure of— Harry will face Snape
and Pettigrew will help him to pay the debt from book 3.

I too think that Voldemort will be the one killed off in the last book. Harry is obviously the only one that can kill him and I dont think that JK Rowling would end the book with Voldemort in full power with no one to kill him. Its to much of a cliff hanger for the end of a series.If anything like said before hp will die in the attempt to kill voldey. But also if you remember in the HBP Snape makes that unbreakable promise to do malfoys dirty buiseness. was that taken care of when dumbledore died? Will harry even be at hogwarts his 7th year or will he go looking for the other parts of Voldey’s soul to destroy. He can only be killed once all 7 are destroyed i think. I think that possibly Neville might have more a significance than anyone has thought. Voldey chose harry as his equal but maybe neville has more power than he has shown. Also I agree with what someone said that two many main characters, who were close to harry, have been killed off, it would just be cruel to kill off another one of harry’s close friends and if harry dies the other deaths would have been useless. if JK has killed off any one of the trio no one in this world will ever let her live it down.
