John Mayer’s Pitbull Attack?
John Mayer apologizes for the live pit bull fight he had “great success with for the past couple of weeks” after it got out of hand when the dog broke free during a song and “a lot of people got hurt.” Crying, he said, “I’m sorry.”
We’re confused–we thought he was a singer, not a glam rock act?

yeah, i dunno. just watched it, and im guessing it’s him just fooling around. There must’ve been some mishap and this is his excuse..?
I was at his concert at the Red Rocks Saturday night and there was no mention of the incident during that performance, but then he didn’t talk much at all. For his encore, he did admit that he was “a little drunk”. Hard to believe he could perform as well as he did if he was intoxicated.
I think this is maybe his response to the fact that a town in CO is trying to ban pitbulls. I thought it was awfully weird that there was no news coverage of fans attacked at his concert.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of John…his music and his sense of humor, but this is just stupid. As a music lover AND a dog lover, and the myriad of misconceptions surrounding this breed, this is something that just can’t be joked about…too many stupid people who can’t separate truth from a (clearly) poor attempt at humor.
I was at the concert that first night! It was phenomonel. He makes references to the “shortened or trunkated show, but it lasted for quite a long time. I think I know why John Mayer posted this video! He’s had an amazing career and i think he finally felt content with the work he has created. Now he can have fun with whatever he wants to do ….on whichever scale he wants to perform! LOVE YOU JOHN! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!~
definitely a joke – john would never. and, you can hear people laughing behind the camera.
but i wholeheartedly agree with rottiegirl – many people will not distinguish! his is a special type of humor, and yes, this issue shouldn’t be joked about. I’m from ontario, where pits have tragically been banned for 2 years now.
i know he meant well, but this was definitely thin ice!
OH!!!! UMMMM? I get it now! Not very funny though. I actually viewed this on Friday night just home from JM’s show in Nashville, TN
I did not know that it was supposed to be a joke. I have alot to learn about what others think is funny and aparently so does he! There are so many other things in life that are actually funny. On July 6, 2007 I had to have my 1 year old pitbull put down, because of vicious behavior toward children. I hope he put this up to stop the pitbull fighting rather than a joke. I’d say it would make a much better public awareness clip.
pitbulls are not mean they are like other dogs yes i know they like mean.
But i have 4 pitbulls
if you have ? call 1714-925-4004
I hope it was a joke…………….wierd sense of humor. No news anywhere on the net about pit bull fights, PETA isn’t all over him etc…..
DOG FIGHTING?!? U write all these songs about trying to make the world a better place and now…now u r some shallow loser, and maybe always have been
did this actually happen? you would think it would have shown up on the news like the michael vick thing… if this was a joke though, it was a very sick one.
