Perry Taylor nominated for US Veterans’ award

Posted in Artists, Babies, Britney Spears by The Gossip Monger on June 16th, 2006.

Were you aware that you could be nominated for your noble service in protecting celebrities? I certainly didn’t, and I bet Perry Taylor didn’t either.

britney spears perry taylorEither way, it seems Britney Spears’ new manny — aka bodyguard — has been nominated for a US Veterans’ award as a graduate of the US Naval academy. Usually, the award goes to corporate leaders or politicians such as “Senator John Warner, former Continental Airlines CEO Gordon Bethune, and director Oliver Stone, U.S. military veterans who have achieved top positions in their respective fields.”

I suppose earning the position of Spears’ new bodyguard is pretty high up in the field of security jobs. But I’m not the only one shocked by this announcement. The article states:

“I was surprised when several of our members nominated Mr. Taylor,” said Scott Higgins, CEO of Veterans Advantage. “But after reviewing Mr. Taylor’s service as a Naval Officer and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, and that he has risen to a top position in his field in a relatively short period of time, I believe we can consider him for this position.”

Apparently security is a top career move made by veterans after their service, so I guess Taylor’s new job is not unique. The article adds:

Protective service occupations are a popular career choice for veterans such as Mr. Taylor, which includes professions in public police work, private security contracting overseas, as well as protecting the rich and famous. The training, skills, and other qualifications acquired through veteran’s military service, are often much sought after requisites for professional security recruiters who seek to fill positions in this growing industry.

Before we rush to give him such an award though, I’d like to point out that nobody’s quite certain what the guy’s job is:

There is some question as to whether Mr. Taylor is a security professional employed as Ms. Spears’ bodyguard, as depicted in movies such as “The Bodyguard” with Kevin Costner or “In the Line of Fire” with Clint Eastwood, or if he is indeed employed as her male nanny, as in “The Pacifier,” in which Vin Deisel portrays a former Navy Seal who becomes a nanny. Mr. Perry has been employed by Ms. Spears since April of 2006.

Doesn’t anyone know that he was KICKED OUT of the Navy for using drugs?! I know people, that went to Annapolis with him, and he got kicked out, he was DISHONORABLY DISCHARGED from the US Military! Dont give this fool a medal, give him a kick in the ***!

  2. [...] Britney Spear’s new bodyguard/manny, Perry Taylor is too much for husband Kevin Federline to handle! According to Life Style Extra, Kevin Federline wants her attractive bodyguard fired fearing they’re getting too close. An insider is quoted: Kevin didn’t like seeing Perry holding his son while out with Britney. He instructed her to drop him before their reunion last week where they decided to get their marriage back on track. Kevin was uncomfortable with Perry being so close to Britney and his son. He felt she was trying to taunt him. [...]

He did not get kicked out and you dont know anyone from Annapolis, I was on the ship with him. He got an honorable discharge and left the military with thousands of other officers because of cut backs, try looking it up moron. And again you dont know anyone from Annapolis.

    Tony:
You are a malicious bottom feeder…Thanks Brinion…let’s get the facts straight….
by the way tony…you sound a little frustrated with your own life…tell us about it!?
As for the award….I think a lot of people must think the award is a pretty big joke…but I guess they think
Perry deserves some kind of support for all the fuss and flack related to showing up for work and doing what the employers tell him to do…a lot like being in the service…

  5. usna98 says:

Nominating him is a joke to our service. Kicked out of the navy for drug possession. Off his ship for drinking and driving, sleeping with enlisted subordinate, and drug arrest. Trash deserves trash.

  6. Corrie says:

USNA 98…sure hope you aren’t holding any responsible position in the military…..or anywhere else…
as you don’t have the common sense to get the story right before you repeat it. You don’t know Perry…and don’t seem to know much else, either.
Get a life…if you’re such a hot shot how do you have time to dribble in the trash can…..?????

  7. Brinion says:

USNA98 you are a sissy. I know him and none of it is true. He didnt get kicked off the ship for a DUI and I heard that this is really Tony M using an amlost clever allias to avert suspicion and lend some credence to a lie. Honor Courage Commitment, you display none of those, bad mouthing a nice guy. You should be ashamed of yourself and I am sure right now ADM Nimitz is crying up in heaven and thinks your a moron and you have bad breath(so Im told). Plus you did not even have a real plebe summer under heat stress warnings and when its raining you arent training, sissy. So how can you judge anyone. Even Jesus hates you, I’m sure, and so did everyone else in your company. The real joke is that the nomination source is some bogus scam that charges money for membership and is using it for publicity so that transexual ex-naval officers, like you, can join and buy discount stockings.
